When Brian Coppola
first started volunteering at Northwest Program for the arts a year ago,
he certainly never expected he’d meet
1 Bicycle within a few months, let
alone shoot 2
photos, empty 3
trash, and assemble a stage 4
all in the same day. “It was really cool,” he says,
“when the [Seattle Music] Fest rolled around I got a chance to help
with nearly everything.”
Brian is Northwest Program for the Arts’ Jack-of-all trades. Although
he currently is NPA’s webmaster
5 extraordinaire, Brian’s
flexible 6
attitude and easy-going outlook mean that he’s done everything
from fundraising to graphics design. In fact, Brian is a web
designer 7 ∫ by trade,
and although he is currently seeking new employment opportunities in his
field, he emphasizes his readiness to expand
8 and try new things. “NPA’s
given me the chance to use my web skills but also to help with development.
I like to think of myself as someone who can go both ways...in terms of
projects, that is,” he says.
Go both ways? What do others think of this free-swinging, flexible volunteer?
“Brian starts with the notion that whatever is being discussed
9 is possible
10 and then figures out how to make
it happen,” says NPA Director Adam Sheridan. “He’s also
good at getting the group to scale ideas
11 in ways that are workable.”
In short, Brian has been a priceless
12 asset to NPA. So what does everyone’s
favorite volunteer think of the all the blood, sweat, and tears he’s
given to NPA? “It’s been a growth
13 experience; the opportunity to
do the things that I like and work with such cool
14 people has been fantastic.”
Thanks Brian! We hope you’ll stick around for another year of, well,
whatever needs doing.
