Get Involved! Volunteer! Intern!
The Northwest Programs for the Arts depends heavily on its volunteers
and intern staff.
| Already know you're interested?
Here's a quick link to our new
volunteer and intern survey! If we don't call you in a day
or so please feel free to call the office (sometimes we get busy!). |
Why do people volunteer / intern?
Some help to meet new people. Some help to learn about project management
or leadershiop. Some come to learn marketing or technical staging and
production ...or the music industry...or fundraising...or video...or....
Some help to build portfolio material. Some help to make job contacts.
Some help to promote one of the Northwest's most important artforms. Many
people like tohelp to promote community and a great free event for the
region. Most help for the fun of seeing the event come together after
months of preparation.
What roles might I play?
You might be surprised how many different skills become useful in running
an arts group and events. Writing. Organizing. Managing people. Staffing
a table at concerts. Making phone calls.
Can you see yourself in any of these roles? Community fundraiser. Stage
manager. Sponsorship marketing staff. Planning team member. Sound assistant.
Set-up crew.Videographer. Photographer. Strategist. Accountant. Publicist.
Web programmer. Web promoter. Runner (if you have access to a car or truck).
Researcher. Office assistant. Advertising staff. Graphic designer. Carpenter.
Party coordinator. Backstage manager. Performer check-in coordinator.
Vendor team. Security staff. Emcee. Lighting director. Lighting operator.
Stagehand. Please see the list of current
staff needs.
Does NPA accept internships for school credit or résumé material?
Absolutely. Interns must put in consistent effort. Together,
NPA staff, the intern, and the school or other organization will outline
development goals and expectations and ensure that everyone benefits.
Internships do not necessarily need to involve a school or sponsoring
organization. Expect to work hard and learn a lot.
What next?
Please check back for openings.
