Getting to Alki Beach on West Seattle (12 minutes from downtown Seattle)
Please check back here for detailed bus and boat routes and schedules.
We STRONGLY encourage carpooling or
taking transit to the festival for your sanity (parking will be limited),
convenience, and out of respect for the Alki neighbors as our hosts. Bring
a Metro transfer valid for that day and NPA will enter you to win prizes
in one of several drawings.
By Boat (Metro's Water Taxi):
Board at Pier 54 on Seattle's Waterfront. The pedestrian-only boats
depart every half-hour on Fri/Sat and every hour on Sunday. The
ride takes 8 minutes and the festival parking shuttle buses take you right
to the festival once you land at Alki. The fare is $2 but free with
a metro bus pass or transfer. Please visit Metro's
water taxi page for more!
By Bus:
Metro's web site
can give you the best routes and schedules. Route 56 and takes you
straight to the festival from downtown (routes 15 and 18 usually turn
in to 56s so you can ride them straight through). Routes 54 and
55 take you to West Seattle where you can connect with the 54 (the Route
5 bus turns into Route 55 after downtown and keeps going). The 37
goes straight to Alki but service is more limited.
By Car:
Take I-5, 99, or 1st Avenue to the West Seattle Bridge. Stay right
and exit to Admiral Way. Follow the road as it curves and winds
up the hill, passes a business district, and winds back down the hill.
Near the bottom, you will see a stoplight at 59th street. Turn
right at 59th, 60th, or 61st Streets until you reach the beach. Allow
about 15 minutes from downtown Seattle. STAY TUNED FOR PARK & RIDE
OPTIONS!
What to Bring
Feel free to bring beach items, but please remember that we will ask
people to consolidate blanket areas as the audience increases. Please
remember that glass bottles of any kind are not allowed on public beaches.
When to Arrive
There's good music (including featured headliners) on all day, starting
right at 12:00p.m. We encourage people to come for the whole day
or part, but plan to arrive early if you want to catch a particular band.
Is there Food?
Yes, there are great food vendors at the festival and nearby restaurants
on Alki Beach. That's part of the fun.
What Else?
Please help us keep the event going and treat the neighborhood and beach
with respect. Let's leave the beach cleaner than we found it and
thank the city and Alki residents for allowing us all to be their guests.
